Palin

In my "who really cares what I think" opinion, all the recent publicity that SC governor Sanford has received over crying in Argentina has had Sarah Palin concerned. In almost every article he was touted as having been a top prospect as republican candidate for President in 2012.

Wait a gosh darned minute! Palin looked about as visible as an anonymous person hiking down the Appalachian Trail. Time for action! I would imagine that there are fewer constraints on time and money raising once all those legal obstacles of public office are removed.

I don't believe for one minute that Palin has any aspirations other than being the next President of the United States of America. Notice she didn't say anything about taking time off to spend with family. Then again, maybe not, according to Nihil Obstat.

There was one minor contradiction in her speech however. In one place she claims only a lame duck governor would take advantage of the people by trotting around the lower 48 and foreign countries (like they're one and the same to Alaskans). Then in a later segment she talks about meeting the troops in Kosovo. Whatever.

Some found the timing curious, but it's Independence Day weekend. What better symbolism than that to shrug off the shackles of restrictions on ambitions? The siren song proved hard to resist, as it muted the call of the wild.

It should prove to be interesting, in a sound bite kind of way...You betcha!
